The closest train station is Sheffield Station but is around 3 miles from Hillsborough itself. It's either a taxi or public transport from here with most making the short walk up to the Super Tram in the town centre to make the journey.
Street parking is limited but available if arriving early and not permit parking areas (We've parked off Worrall Road previously). There are some parking options along the A61 or another option would be to park at Meadowhall Shopping Centre and get the yellow tram to Hillsborough from there (takes about 35 minutes).
Sheffield is such a good city for pubs that you have numerous options really. You can stick to the City Centre and get the tram towards Hillsborough closer to kick-off (can become busy) or venture towards Kelham Island and do the same.
My tip for post-match would be to make the 15-20 minute walk to the Rawson Springs Wetherspoons whilst the tram traffic dies down and then head back into the City Centre after then.

Former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Kevin Pressman holds the unwanted record for being the fastest sending-off in Premier League history.
He was dismissed after handling outside his penalty area after just 13 seconds in the 2000/01 season against Wolves at Molineux. Despite playing the majority of the match with 10 men, the Owls managed to get a respectable 1-1 draw thanks to Andy Booth's late equaliser.
